Jo took up cycling after buying her first road bike through the cycle to work scheme and I couldn't swim any stroke except a few lengths of ˜head out of the water" breaststroke. But, Jo entered her first sprint triathlon, due to take place the following spring in Shropshire. Jo placed 2nd female!.
That's when Jo was bitten by the triathlon bug. Jo continued to compete in local sprint triathlons through the 2015 season, placing 2nd female.
Jo then decided to step it up to the next level and entered the Olympic distance triathlon due to take place the following spring.
Jo has been working hard to reduce weight & body fat, build muscle and cardiovascular fitness. As a result Jo knocked 3 and a half minutes off her 10k time and 8 and a half minutes of her half marathon time.
Jo has been was amazed at the effect of good nutrition can have on her performance in training and racing. Jo has studied the effects of clean food and the supplements that would help achieve her goals.
"I'm a massive believer in the idea that anyone can achieve anything they set their mind to with a bit of grit and determination, a positive attitude and by searching for and accepting help, support and advice of those with the knowledge and ability to help us achieve. I cant count the number of people I've received help and support from over the past 3 years!
That's why I'm so excited to go into my 2018 season with the support of Nutrivault. I've learnt the importance of good nutrition, and how supplements can help to support this if used correctly and so the knowledge and support available from Nutrivault is going to be invaluable. However, age group GB athletes don't get any funding, so I'm incredibly grateful to Nutrivault for sponsoring me and helping a local girl continue to follow her dreams and smash her goals!
